Workforce Development

The mission of the workforce development team is to develop professional skills and abilities for employees and teams to promote optimal performance outcomes. 

Support includes:

  • Performance analysis: identify gaps and root causes
  • Design performance solutions: identify and select training and non-training solutions
  • Implement performance solutions: deliver solutions through learning experiences, such as blended learning, co-active coaching, skills practice labs
  • Evaluate performance solutions: measure outcomes, knowledge and skills obtained, transfer of learning and skills

Learning ExperiencesOur workshops facilitate learning by discussing topics relevant to your work, suggesting new tools and perspectives, demonstrating application of new methods, and providing a space for free exchange of ideas and affirmation. Whether you are an individual, a leader, or a part of a team, we have workshops on various topics to support your work at Vanderbilt.

Organizational Development - Organizational development is a planned effort for a work group and/or the organization, managed by leadership and supported by employees, to increase organization effectiveness through planned change in processes and systems. This planned change supports the overall strategies of Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the department strategies and goals.

Workplace Civility

Addresses and improves communication challenges through communication styles and assertiveness assessments, feedback conversations, emotional intelligence and service recovery exercises.
