Get ready for annual conversations

For Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) staff, fiscal 2017 annual evaluations begin next week. Staff will self-rate their performance and enter comments for each action to support organizational and department goals, overall rating for Credo and elements of performance.

The Academic Enterprise will communicate directly with leaders and staff on timeline and instructions for their annual evaluations. 

All staff members hired by April 1 will have an annual evaluation form available in Performance Central on June 1. All staff members and managers have until June 15 to submit their self-evaluation and complete assigned compliance courses. If your end of orientation evaluation falls between April 1 and June 15, you and your manager will complete the annual evaluation process. Training resources availableWe will offer a variety of training resources to both managers and staff on how to write an effective annual review, use the form in Performance Central, and tips on effective performance conversations. The training will include webinars, quick eLearning resources and job aids.

June 15 deadline for compliance courses
The annual fiscal year 2017 compliance period ends June 15. All the modules you NEED to complete are listed in the Compliance Portal, where you can also verify completion and progress. Your completion of compliance training is vital to meet many regulatory requirements, and is one of the requirements for any FY18 pay increase. So complete these activities by June 15. 

If you are a new employee hired after April 1, you will be assigned the VUMC initial compliance module and will not be included in the annual compliance process. For these staff members, their status in the Compliance portal will be “Orientation” which equates to being compliant.

  • Aug. 31: Annual evaluations completed and signed by employee and  manager
  • Aug. 31: FY18 pillar goals finalized; start adding your action, tactics and organizational and department goals
  • Sept. 30: FY18 action, tactics and department goals approved by manager
