Reminder: Year-end flexPTO transfer to sick bank

PTO iconAs you may recall, the popular option for staff to roll over up to 40 hours of unused PTO to banked sick time was approved for each of the next three fiscal years — 2018, 2019 and 2020 — with a cap added for the total number of sick hours to be 160 hours

If you have more than 40 hours of flexPTO that you have not used by June 30, 2018, only 40 hours will be transferred to a grandfathered sick plan, and you will lose the remaining hours. This applies to all employees, regardless of hire date.

If you currently have more than 160 hours in your sick bank, you will be able to keep those hours but not add any additional hours to it. Hours in your sick bank can be used according to current grandfathered sick policy, including any future time necessary to cover days before short-term disability begins.

You do not need to take any action as the transfer is based on the remaining balance in your account at the close of the current fiscal year on June 30, 2018.
