Commodore Cash will soon become VUMC Badge Bucks

Beginning June 25, VUMC employees will no longer be able to add funds to a Commodore Cash account for use at campus and Medical Center dining and retail locations. Instead, VUMC employees can add funds to a VUMC Badge Bucks account. These funds can be accessed by swiping your badge at Medical Center dining locations, including the Courtyard Café and Au Bon Pain at Vanderbilt University Hospital and Vandy Café, Ben and Jerry’s, Subway and Taco Bell at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Employees will not be able to use Badge Bucks funds at Vanderbilt University dining and retail locations, such as Rand Dining Center and Barnes & Noble at Vanderbilt. All major credit cards and Apple Pay are still accepted at university campus dining locations.

All Commodore Cash balances will automatically transfer over to the new Badge Bucks system. You can check your balance and add funds using a credit or debit card at https://get.cbord.com/vumc or by downloading the GET Mobile app in the iTunes of Google Play store. You will use your VUnetID and password to sign into your account. You will not be able to add funds to your account in person or through payroll deduction.

VUMC employees who have an existing balance in a Vanderbilt University Campus Dining Meal Plan will receive a temporary meal plan card with the remaining balance that can be used to purchase or redeem meals at VU dining halls. VUMC employees who want to purchase a VU meal plan can do so at the Commodore Card Office. The VU meal plan is separate from the Badge Bucks system, and funds cannot be transferred between the two. Badge Bucks Terms and Conditions

1. DEBIT ACCOUNTS: Debit accounts on your Badge Bucks are a record of your money deposited with us and available to you for purchasing products and services wherever Badge Bucks are accepted. You cannot use your Badge Bucks as a credit card nor to obtain cash. Your debit account is made active immediately upon receipt of your ID badge. You may use your account after adding funds at any time (min $10.00/Max $250).  Add funds online anytime at our website,  https://get.cbord.com/vumc

Badge Bucks is the spending account available on your ID badge. It can be used to make cash-free purchases at select VUMC retail locations. See above for locations.

2. FEES: There are no transaction charges.

3.BADGE BUCKS: You must present your ID Badge in order to purchase products or services. The ID Badge is the property of VUMC and must be returned to VUMC Card Office upon request. It should be carried at all times. The Badge Bucks are non-transferable. Unauthorized use, tampering, or alteration may result in disciplinary action. The ID Badge may be deactivated and/or retained when presented by any Cardholder making inappropriate or illegal use of it.

4. LOST, STOLEN, OR DAMAGED ID Badge: You agree to immediately report a lost or stolen ID Badge in person at the VUMC Card Office, online at newcard.vumc@vumc.org , or via telephone to the VUMC Card Office during regular business hours at 615-936-3350. Replacement cards will be created for the current replacement card fee of $20.00. Unauthorized expenditures are the responsibility of the cardholder for cards not reported lost within 12 hours.

5. REFUNDS AND MERCHANDISE RETURN: Merchandise may be accepted for return in accordance with the refund policy in effect at the place of purchase of the product(s) or service(s). Any refund shall be credited to your Badge Bucks account. No cash refunds will be made for any purchases made with your Badge Bucks.

6. ERROR RESOLUTION: If you believe a transaction was made in error, contact the manager of the location where the error occurred as soon as possible and within 60 days of the appearance of the transaction in question. The manager will need the following information to investigate:

    • First and last name as printed on your Badge Bucks
    • Your VUnetID
    • A complete description of the error with an explanation of why you believe the transaction to be an error
    • The date, time, and dollar amount of the error and, if possible, a receipt

The VUMC Card Office cannot issue a stop payment on a transaction. All transactions occur in real time. All error resolution must be conducted between the cardholder and the merchant.

7. MERCHANT RELATIONS: The VUMC Card Office is not responsible if a merchant does not accept your Badge Bucks as a form of payment for any reason. If you have a dispute with a merchant regarding goods or services purchased with your Badge Bucks, the dispute lies with the merchant and not with the VUMC Card Office.

8. ACCOUNT CLOSURE: Your Badge Bucks accounts will be closed when you cease to be a employee of VUMC. Refunds will be issued for account balances of $10.00 or more.

9. RECEIPTS AND STATEMENTS: Most attended point-of-sale terminals are equipped to provide a receipt for each transaction. It is your responsibility to ensure the accuracy of the receipt. A detailed account statement is available online at https://get.cbord.com/vumc.  Printed statements for transactions occurring within the last year are available upon request from the VUMC Card Office. Statement cycles are based on calendar months.

11. CHANGES IN TERMS AND CONDITIONS: The terms and conditions of the Id Badge/Badge Bucks are effective and remain binding until the Cardholder is otherwise notified. If any changes are made to the Terms and Conditions, the VUMC Card Office will provide the cardholder with a notice of change(s) upon their next addition of funds when using the HR website. Prior notice need not be given where immediate change in the Terms and Conditions is necessary to maintain or resolve the security of Badge Bucks accounts.
