Key dates to know for FY18 flexPTO rollover

As fiscal year 2018 comes to a close, there are several important dates to know regarding your flexPTO allotments. As you may recall, staff are allowed to roll over up to 40 hours of unused PTO to a grandfathered sick bank with a cap added for a total number of sick hours to be 160 hours. This allowance is for fiscal years 2018, 2019 and 2020.

The hours will be added to your grandfather sick bank by the end of July.  You will forfeit any unused flexPTO hours above 40 hours. If you currently have more than 160 hours in your sick bank, you will be able to keep those hours but not add any additional hours to it.

Key dates to remember:

  • June 30: Last day to use FY18 flexPTO allotments. Exempt staff will report June time-off by this date.
  • July 1: The flexPTO begins for FY19. Staff should be able to see their FY19 flexPTO hours in C2HR. FY19 flexPTO allotments will be available and must be used by June 30, 2019.
  • July 12: Bi-weekly paid employees will be able to see the allotment in Kronos.
  • July 31: The grandfathered sick time hours will be viewable in time off balances in C2HR.
  • Aug. 1: You’ll be able to see hours deducted and an adjustment adding hours back to your FY19 allotments on your paystub.
