Fidelity retirement workshops help you plan for your financial future

benefits fidelity workshops

According to a Fidelity Investments survey, less than half of Americans are financially prepared for retirement. One in three American workers have no retirement savings at all. Plus millions of Americans are missing out on free money — totaling some $24 billion — every year by not taking advantage of matching contributions from their employers. That’s an average of $1,336 per employee per year. Vanderbilt University Medical Center will match 3 percent of your mandatory contribution as an employee. In addition, VUMC will match 2 percent of your voluntary contributions, as long as you contribute at least 2 percent.

Fidelity Investments, the administrative services provider for VUMC’s retirement plan, will be on campus to hold four financial workshops in May and June to help you get started saving for retirement and, if you’ve already started, how to make the most of your savings. The workshops are free and open to all VUMC employees. Registration is not required, but seating is limited.

In addition, Fidelity is offering a webinar on June 1 and 2 to answer questions about paying for health care during retirement and how Medicare can help cover those costs.
